NewsThe Walkmen announce North American datesThe Walkmen have announced that they will play a handful of North American shows later this month. The New York indie rockers recently came off the NME Presents Kaiser Chiefs tour, supporting the Leeds lads. The band are now plotting additional dates on their own steam, beginning in Chicago on June 16. They'll then hit US and Canadian cities including Ottawa, Cleveland and Detroit. They'll wrap things up at Calgary's Sled Island Music Festival on June 28. The tour dates are: Chicago, IL Taste of Randolph Street (June 16) Ottawa, Ontario Capital Idea! Festival (22) Indianapolis, IN The Vogue (24) Cleveland, OH Agora Theatre & Ballroom (25) Detroit, MI Majestic Theatre (26) Calgary, Alberta Sled Island Music Festival (28) Josh Homme: 'Dancing dwarf was career highlight' Queens Of The Stone Age's Josh Homme has declared that dancing onstage with a dwarf is his career highlight so far. The incident happened at a show a few years ago, when due to a really pumped up crowd the small gig-goer ended up being tossed onto the stage. "I remember one time when somebody threw a dwarf on stage. That was pretty weird," admitted Homme. "He got up and started to dance, while I just lost my shit laughing." However all did not end well for the diminutive stage-invader as the frontman recalled. "Then he tried to jump back in the crowd," said Homme, "and he fell off the monitor and went crashing headfirst into the security barrier." Meanwhile Queens Of The Stone Age are set to play the T In The Park festival this weekend (June 6-8). Stay tuned to NME.COM for full coverage. |
